STORY TELLING (CLASS IIIA, IIIB)

On Saturday, 17th August 2019, students of class III-A and III-B had a story-telling session in English. The students had to tell a short story and make it as interesting as possible. The whole class was involved in the activity and were well prepared for the same.

    MATHS QUIZ (CLASSES III, IV, V)

    On Saturday, 17th August 2019, an inter-house maths quiz was conducted for classes III-V. Each house had to solve 12 questions correctly in order to win the competition. The quiz was primarily based on mental maths, and involved basic arithmetic problems. Tilak house was adjudged the winner of the competition, followed by Shastri, Bose and Tagore House.

      EVS ACTIVITY (CLASS IIB)

      On Saturday, 17th August 2019, an EVS activity was conducted in class II-B, through which they were taught classification of plants. The students visited the school garden and saw various kinds of herbs, shrubs, trees, climbers and creepers. They became familiar with the characteristics of each plant that they saw and enjoyed the nature walk.

        HEALTH FOOD VS JUNK FOOD

        On Saturday, 17th August 2019, students of class IV-A and IV-B did an activity – ‘Healthy Food v/s Junk Food’. The students were asked to categorize the food they had in their tiffin boxes into ‘Healthy’ or ‘Junk’. Harmful effects of junk food and the benefits of healthy food were discussed. They also talked about the macronutrients that the food items provided - carbohydrates, fats or proteins, along with the vitamins and minerals present.

          HINDI ACTIVITY (CLASS VI)

          On Saturday, 17th August 2019, a Hindi activity was conducted for class VI, in which students were divided house-wise and each house was given a topic on which they had to paste pictures ad write a few lines. The topics ranged from their favourite player to different types of vehicles.

              On Saturday, 17th August 2019, a science activity was conducted for class VI. The students were asked to identify the biotic and the abiotic components of the environment around them. The session was quite interactive and informative.

                    ENGLISH SPEAKING ACTIVITY (CLASS IV)

                    Speaking is the second of the four language skills. Speaking skills are valuable both in our personal life and in our career. So to encourage our students to speak and express their thoughts and views in front of all, An English Speaking activity was conducted in class IV. Students spoke on ‘What I want to be when I grow up’ all the students actively participated in the activity and shared their ambitions in life.

                      THE GAME WE PLAY

                      An EVS activity was conducted on Saturday, 10th August 2019 for classes IIIA and IIIB, which taught them the importance of playing games. They were told about the types of games – indoor as well as outdoor, team and individual games. They played indoor games like ludo, chess, carom, table tennis and snakes and ladders; along with outdoor games like volleyball, cricket, badminton, skipping and skating. They thoroughly enjoyed the activities.

                        INTER HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION 2019

                        Inter-house dance competition for classes I-V was held on Saturday, 10th August 2019, the themes of which were patriotism and devotion to Lord Krishna. The competition honoured the freedom fighters' courage and celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna, showcasing his various leelas. The competition began with the lighting of the lamp by Mr Alexander Francis, Principal, AIS Pilkhuwa and Ms Bhawna. The first performance of the competition was by Tilak House, which celebrated India's independence struggle that united the Indian masses and filled their hearts with a sense of honour for the country. Presenting the Krishna Raas leela, we had the Bose House next with their performance on Krishna Raas Leela or the Dance of Divine Love. Lord Krishna was celebrated as the Infallible by the students of Shastri House who performed to the song Achyutam Keshavam, celebrating and saluting Lord Krishna for all that he is. The last performance of the day praised Lord Krishna and showcased his devotees' love for him - the students of Tagore house danced beautifully to the song Morni Ka Roop Leliya. Shastri House was adjudged the winner of the competition, followed by Bose, Tilak and Tagore House. Mr Francis acknowledged the efforts of all the participants and praised their efforts in putting together such spectacular performances. The competition concluded with the National Anthem

                          SCIENCE QUIZ ACTIVITY (CLASS VA)

                          A science quiz was conducted on Saturday, 10th August 2019 for class VA, the topic of which was Food and Nutrients. The students were quizzed on different food groups and were taught about macronutrients and micronutrients. They were also guided about the importance of roughage, consumption of water and exercise.

                            ICE CREAM PARTY

                            To find relief from this hot scorching summer, our kids had an ice cream party on Saturday, 10th August 2019. The school was decorated for the party and the students came dressed in orange. They enjoyed various flavours of cool treats and were taught to make orange ice creams through paper-folding. They were given origami ice creams as a take away from the bash. The students were taught the difference between licking, chewing and swallowing and were also guided about the precautions they should take during summertime. The whole day was a learning session for them.

                              TULSIDAS JAYANTI 2019

                              The Hindu consciousness and culture are heavily indebted to Tulsidas Ji. The students of Arwachin International School, Pilkhuwa celebrated Tulsidas Jayanti with fervors and zeal. Ms. Rooby Gaur recounted to the students the event of Tulsidas becoming a staunch worshipper of Lord Ram. The students Prachi, Jagriti & Ishaan of class – V spoke on the importance of Tulsidas Jayanti. They shared some details of his life with the students. The assembly concluded with Saraswati Vandana and there after The National Anthem.

                                STORY TELLING

                                Storytelling is a universal and traditional art form of effective communication. It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often used as a medium to ingrain values and open the minds of children to a world beyond imagination.

                                A good story can imbibe the right values in the most impressionable age.

                                To encourage the skills of listening and reading, a storytelling session was organized for the students of the Pre – Primary wing. Little Ducklings Pilkhuwa and Little Ducklings Hapur enjoyed the stories told by their teachers to improve their language skills & to stir their imagination.

                                Arwachin International School, Pilhuwa students also experienced the same.
